WeSustain develops a software to get a specific measurement of the progress and goal achievement of the members of the Textile Partnership – Implementation November 2016.

Hannover 07th of September 2016. WeSustain supports the Textile Partnership as a software provider. Through the development of an individual software to review and measure the pursuit of goals of the textile Partnership, process can be measured and rated. The launch of the software is expected to be November 2016.

The Partnership for Sustainable Textiles

Incidents such as the collapse of Rana Plaza in Bangladesh in 2013 have tragically brought the issue of social and environmental abuses in global textile production into the public spotlight. In order to improve social and environmental circumstances Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dr. Gerd Müller set up the Round Table on the Textiles Industry in 2014, bringing together actors from the garment industry, retailers, trade unions and civil society representatives. This process resulted in the establishment of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles (Textile Partnership) on 16 October 2014. Around 180 partners from across all stakeholder groups are currently involved in this initiative.

IT-solution for the support of the review process

The starting point for the Textile Partnership and the framework for its activities is the jointly devised Plan of Action containing ambitious social, environmental and economic goals which the partners commit to strive for. Currently members of the Textile Partnership are collaborating in order to create rules and indicators for an effective monitoring and reporting system, the so called review-process.

The aim of the operation is reviewing and reporting about target tracking of the members to make progress of the partnership possible. The review process will be supported by an IT system which WeSustain is developing and implementing. Therefor the customized solution will make continuous processes of learning, improvement and change of members measurable.

Access and use for all partnership members

The web based software will be accessible to ever member of the partnership for sustainable textiles. It makes a simple collection and evaluation of data possible and guarantees top data security.

The launch of the software is already scheduled for November. Next to specialist and technical support with the implementation WeSustain will also take care of the maintenance and support in the future.
